Portesham Renovation June-December 2026
Portesham Surgery submitted a bid to NHS Dorset ICB for a series of internal redesign works that began at the start of June. These improvements are being made with one clear goal in mind: to create a more welcoming, efficient, and accessible environment for all.
Phase One: June-July 2026. This will involve the waiting room so all patients are being asked to check in as normal then wait either in front of the dispensary or in the temporary waiting room in front of the entrance. The clinicians will come to collect you as usual.
Phase Two: July-September 2026. During this phase we will be adding a brand‑new clinic room. This extra space will allow us to offer more appointment availability and greater flexibility for specialist clinics. We know how important it is that everyone can access care easily. That’s why the reception area will be also be redesigned to be more accessible for patients with mobility needs and improved access to reception staff
Phase Three and four: September-December 2026. One of the biggest changes will be a refreshed and modernised dispensary. This upgrade is designed to improve workflow behind the scenes and enable more space to process prescriptions.

Why FeNo Testing Matters
At Prince of Wales Surgery, we use FeNo (Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide) testing to help diagnose and manage asthma more effectively. This simple, painless test measures inflammation in the lungs and helps us tailor your asthma treatment, so you breathe easier and stay well. By supporting our Equipment Fund, you are helping us provide and maintain vital tools like FeNo devices for better patient care.
