Community Midwives provide care and support throughout pregnancy and after birth, offering advice and guidance on all aspects of antenatal and postnatal care.
This service is provided by our NHS partners at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Community Midwives can support you with:
Pregnancy care and health checks
Birth planning and preparation
Postnatal care for parent and baby
Feeding support and early infant care
Advice on physical and emotional wellbeing
Care is tailored to your individual needs and follows national NHS maternity guidelines.
You canself-refer to maternity services as soon as you know you are pregnant
Midwives work closely with GPs, Health Visitors, and hospital teams to ensure joined-up care
Community Midwives play a key role in supporting safe, informed, and compassionate maternity care.
